Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac says that his side will try and win the African Cup of Nations tournament which will kick off next month in Cameroon.

According to the Serbian trainer it will be crazy for any side to promise that he will win the title but Ghana will take it match after match.

The Black Stars have not won the African Cup of Nations since last winning it in 1982 in Libya and have tried in vain to win the elusive title.

Ghana has gone very close to ending the hoodoo on three separate occasions in 1992 , 2010 when Richard Kingson was in post and in 2015.

Ghana qualified to its 23rd AFCON title in Cameroon from a group comprising South Africa, Sudan and Sao Tome and Principe.

Speaking on Black Stars chances of winning the trophy in Cameroon next year, the 63-year-old reiterated that he cannot promise that he will win the trophy but he will prepare the team to fight and try to win the trophy.

"We will try to win the trophy," Milovan Rajevac told the press on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] on Tuesday afternoon.

"No serious person will promise to win the trophy now.

"We'll try match after match," he added.
