The Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Circles Council, Obeng Sekyere says he is happy the club have gone in for a top notch coach in the shape of Mariano Barreto as he has always called for a competent coach.

Kotoko appointed the former Black Stars coach during the second round of the Ghana Premier League season and so far he is yet to lose a game having won two matches and drawing one so far.

Obeng Sekyere has however called for patience and the free hand for the Portuguese trainer to work at the club.

He made this known in an interview with Kumasi based Gye Nyame FM.

"I started calling for a competent coach and now I can confidently say we have gotten one.For Kotoko to hire a former Blackstars coach is highly commendable."

"The only thing left is to allow him work without interference and also exercise patience,I know he will deliver excellently.

For now I think he’s doing well but it’s too early to hail him.We must wait for a while before assessing him."
