Dreams FC's General Manager, Ameenu Shardow, is confident that his team possesses the necessary qualities to emerge victorious against FC Kallon in the return leg and progress to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
In the initial leg of the second round of preliminary matches in the CAF Confederations Cup, Dreams FC, a Ghana Premier League side, secured a 2-1 victory over Sierra Leone's FC Kallon at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
While addressing the potential challenge of playing the second leg outside Sierra Leone due to logistical issues faced by FC Kallon, Shardow expressed his team's unwavering determination to secure the required outcome.
"We have no intention of making excuses regarding the logistics challenge. Our focus is unwavering," Shardow asserted in an interview with Citi Sports.
"We would have preferred to score more goals to make the victory even more decisive. Nonetheless, I firmly believe that we have what it takes to approach the return fixture and accomplish the mission."
In the match, veteran forward John Antwi secured the winning goal with a penalty kick, following FC Kallon's equalizer just before halftime. Godfred Atuahene of Dreams FC opened the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute.
The second leg of the encounter is scheduled to take place at the Southern Arena Stadium, where FC Kallon will host Dreams FC on Friday, September 29. Dreams FC is determined to put in a strong performance and secure their advancement to the next stage of the competition.
