Legendary former Asante Kotoko defender and coach Steven Frimpong Manso is excited with the going on in the Ghana Premier League season.

His former side Asante Kotoko are battling for the Ghana Premier League title with Accra Hearts of Oak and going into the weekend before Kotoko drew goalless with Aduana Stars both teams were level on points.

According to Steven Frimpong Manso whenever the two most glamourous clubs in the country rise and compete for the league title it revives the game.

He says the rivalry and the chase for the title by the two clubs gives a lot of excitement and improvement in the local game.

“When it happens that Kotoko and Hearts are battling for the league it revives the game. The fans of these clubs who were asleep will try to get involve in the club activities because it has gotten the stage where the pride will be at stake”

“Both clubs will try to win the league and it is something that will from till then end of the league take our game to a different level. So I think their rise is good for our football” he said.
