Former Black Stars player Sam Johnson has questioned why players whose contracts have expired with their clubs will still have to go before a committee before they can secure their status as free agents.

According to Sam Johnson most often than not when this issues pops up clubs are always the victors with players losing out.

"We have always been talking about players and their contracts continuously but what I have realized is that no one speaks favourably for the players each time it comes up."

"If I get the chance I will ask them that If as a player, I have a contract with you and it expires why should I go for a floating status before I can leave the team?" he told Kumasi based Akoma Fm.

"Why should those things happen? I have a contract and it expires with my club why should I go before some committee before I can be declared a free agent?"

"I need to go to any club of my choice and don’t have to go before any committee but they will tell you go here; you must have this before you can leave I don’t understand that stress players go through here in Ghana."

Sam Johnson blamed the construction of the player status committee as heavily skewed in favour of the clubs as almost all persons on that committee either have clubs or  affiliated to clubs so the football teams always triumph.

"Some clubs will not pay their players for months and If the player decides to tear up his contract and go for a floating status they will fake something to deny the player his freedom because all those people they are football people and have clubs."
