Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum recently stressed the profound significance of winning matches, emphasizing the joy it brings to fans, technical staff, and players alike.

Following a challenging period where the team endured a seven-game winless streak, Kotoko managed to turn the tide, securing two victories and a draw in their last three matches.

Ogum's remarks came after his team's impressive 2-0 win over Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The victory was sealed with goals from Steven Mukwala, who converted a contentious penalty in the 33rd minute, and Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen, who extended the lead just five minutes into the second half.

Speaking to StarTimes, Ogum highlighted the importance of winning matches, acknowledging the happiness it brings to both the team's supporters and its members.

"Winning is what our teaming supporters always want. So once we win, they are happy and we are also happy," Ogum expressed.

The recent upturn in form has propelled Asante Kotoko up the league table by two places, now occupying the ninth position with 40 points.

This notable improvement reflects the team's determination to bounce back from their earlier struggles and reaffirms their competitive spirit in the Ghana Premier League.
