Ghana was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Niger in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier, after surrendering a first-half lead at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane, Morocco.

Alidu Seidu opened the scoring for the Black Stars just before half-time, but Niger struck back through Oumar Sako in the 81st minute to claim a valuable point.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo made two changes to his starting lineup from the previous match. Majeed Ashimeru and Inaki Williams replaced Elisha Owusu and Jordan Ayew, respectively.

The defensive setup remained the same, with Tariq Lamptey and Alidu Seidu as full-backs, and Salisu Mohammed and Abdul Mumin forming the central defense pairing.

In midfield, captain Thomas Partey was supported by Majeed Ashimeru and Mohammed Kudus, while the front three consisted of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Antoine Semenyo, and Inaki Williams.

Ghana took the lead in the 35th minute through a stunning long-range effort from Alidu Seidu, who fired in a powerful shot from 35 yards out to put the Black Stars ahead.

Despite taking the lead, Ghana struggled to create additional clear-cut chances in the second half.

Their inability to build on the lead was punished when Niger equalized in the 81st minute, with Oumar Sako finding the back of the net after a scramble in the penalty area.

Substitutions, including the introduction of Jordan Ayew and Brandon Thomas-Asante, did little to enhance Ghana's attacking prowess, as the team failed to find a winner in the closing stages.

With this result, Ghana remains winless in Group F of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, having registered one draw and one loss from their first two matches.
