Ghana born-GREAT Britain boxer Joshua Buatsi guaranteed another Olympic medal as light-heavyweight at least a bronze and Floyd Mayweather Jr has tipped him to be a future world champion.

The Croydon-based boxer has been in sensational form and shocked the world with a thumping knockout in the early stages.

But he'll have his sights on the ultimate prize when he fights for a place in the final tomorrow.

And the success story might not stop there.

"He said to me he had heard about me before I got here and that I was a great fighter, a future world champion," Buatsi told the BBC.

"It was good to hear that from someone like Mayweather - who I think is the greatest boxer of our generation.

"I want to dominate in every way I can and I want more than bronze. I will give it everything I've got to make sure I get a gold."

And Olympic glory would be a remarkable success story - as he took the plunge into the world of boxing after being beaten up on his local Croydon estate.

He said: "I grew up in Ghana and came here when I was nine.

"I grew up in an estate called Shrublands. One day, one of my mates brought a set of boxing gloves to the estate and we all tried them on and sparred each other.

"He beat us all up. That's when I said I want to learn the skill of boxing as I knew I could fight."
