Xiaomi is working on a new Black Shark gaming smartphone. Dubbed as Black Shark 2, the latest gaming phone is set to launch on March 18 in China. This will be Xiaomi’s third phone under its new gaming portfolio which includes Black Shark and Black Shark Helo.
Liquid Cooling 3.0
Xiaomi will be using next-gen liquid cooling technology for the new Black Shark phone. As the name implies, the technology ensures better heat management when playing graphic-intensive games such as PUBG Mobile or Asphalt.
Latest processor
As expected, Xiaomi Black Shark 2 will reportedly run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 processor with up to 8GB of RAM. The smartphone will run on Android Pie out-of-the-box. The phone will have 128GB of built-in storage. There are also rumours of a 12GB RAM variant of the smartphone.
No change in display
According to a recent Geekbench listing, Xiaomi Black Shark 2 may offer same resolution as the predecessor – full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels). The original Black Shark came with a 6.01-inch AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D glass protection.

Minor design tweaks
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 will debut with minor changes in the rear panel design. According to reports, the smartphone will use a vertical rear camera module instead of a horizontal module.
Fast charging
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 will come a better 27W fast charging. Modern fast chargers come with up to 15W capacity. But Black Shark 2’s charger will be less powerful than Huawei’s 55W charger for Mate X foldable phone. Xiaomi had introduced a 20W fast charger with Mi MIX 3 5G.
