There is much talk of Asante Kotoko's Frank Mbella breaking the more than two decade record set by Ishmael Addo but his lead as the leading goal scorer in the Ghana Premier League is under threat.

Kotoko's top scorer Frank Mbella Etouga scored over the weekend to  send his tally to 20  for the season but Ashgold hotshot Yaw Annor is breathing  down his  neck.

Ashgold's Yaw Annor is heavily breathing down the neck of Kotoko's Cameroonian striker as over the weekend he scored two goals in their 2-2 drawn game against  Accra Lions.

Yaw Annor scored twice but that wasn’t enough as Accra Lions FC twice came from behind to hold AshantiGold SC to a 2-2 draw at the Len Clay Stadium. Yaw Annor opened the scoring in the 23rd minute - his 17th goal of the campaign to put AshantiGold ahead.

Yaw Annor again netted for the Miners to register his 2nd of the day and 19th of the season as AshantiGold restored their advantage one minute from full-time.
But that didn’t deter Lions from pushing as they scored through Shawkan Mohammed at the death to settle the scores.

He scored four goals against Berekum Chelsea earlier in the season  making Ashgold's game against Kotoko a contest between Frank Mbella and Yaw Annor.

Yaw Annor also scored a hattrick earlier in the season when his side defeated WAFA 6-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
