The Political temperature in the nation is soaring and almost every Politician is lacing his/her boots for the upcoming general elections in 2020.

All major Political parties are frantically strategizing and making preparations to capture or maintain the Parliamentary seat in their Constituency.

Latest to join the fray is the Eastern Regional Deputy Manager for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr Eric Tetteh who has filed for the Yilo-Krobo Parliamentary primaries for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Submitting the forms, the Deputy Regional NADMO manager asserted that the people of the Yilo- Krobo Constituency have been short changed for far too long by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who have occupied the parliamentary seat in that constituency for most part of Ghana’s fourth republic and therefore deserve better.

Aside 1992 when the EGLE party’s Priscilla Esther Korboe won the seat in Yilo-Krobo, the last six parliamentary elections in the Constituency has been won by the NDC this he believes does not commensurate the level of development and resources in the Constituency.

"Since 1992, we have been voting for the NDC but I don't think they have done anything better for the constituency. I'm calling on my fellow Yilo-Krobo’s to try somebody from the NPP" he said.

Having served as the NPP Constituency Organizer for the area over the last five terms he believes he has the experience and nous to be able to help identify their challenges and also help in solving them.

When quizzed about the NDC’s fortitude in the constituency, the former organizer was unperturbed by his party’s poor showing in the constituency and cited how the NPP was able to capture the Upper Manya Krobo seat a safe seat that was in the grasp of the NDC as an example.

He added that the youth feature prominently on his to do list when voted into Parliament as he plans to empower the youth through skill training and job creation.

Adding that even when he was Constituency Organizer, he helped several members of his constituency through scholarship schemes to further their education.

The Parliamentary aspirant urged the people of Krobo to embrace the ruling New Patriotic Party in the next elections as they have good intentions for them citing the Free Senior High school policy which they are beneficiaries and also the restoration of the Nursing and Teacher trainee allowances.

Receiving the forms on behalf of the Party was the Constituency chairman of Yilo-Krobo, Gabriel Odeh Apotey .

The Chairman uncharacteristically threw his support behind the former organizer urging delegates not to make any mistake in choosing any other candidate than Mr Eric Tetteh.

"I believe so well that, with Eric in the scheme of affairs concerning the 2020 polls, we can annex the seat from the NDC. He satisfies the town and village chemistry politics in Yilo Krobo. I believe strongly that with Eric Tetteh we can win the seat in Yilo, we want to win and win it hands down" he stressed.
