Former Video analyst for the Black Stars Gerard Nus says it is very difficult to give an opinion on the work done so far by coach of the Black Stars C.K Akonnor.

The former Ghana captain took charge of the team in 2020 after his previous boss was replaced after the expiry of his contract.

Akonnor hass managed to secure qualification for the AFCON tournament next year in Cameroon but according to Nus you are able to judge a coach during a major tournament.

“As a coach, it always a tricky one to judge a coach. You would need to be in his shoes to know the problems he might be facing before you pass judgment," he told Space FM.

“We only analyse coaches from their games perspectives, but it goes beyond that."

According to Nus, teams could only be judged by their performance at major tournaments or when they play against big teams.

“We see good performance from the team sometimes, but the most important thing is when they perform well at the big tournaments That’s where you meet big teams.”

He further advised that the performance of national teams shouldn’t be based on qualifying games.

“In the qualifiers, you don’t need to be panicked”, he concluded.
