Berekum Chelsea captain Zackaria Fuseini is on the verge of sealing a move to Asante Kotoko SC, with a deal expected to be finalized by the end of the week, according to Opemsuo Radio.

The experienced 27-year-old central defender, widely regarded as one of the top defenders in the Ghana Premier League, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Porcupine Warriors.

The transfer aligns with the club’s rebuilding project ahead of the 2025/26 season, under the anticipated full-time leadership of coach Karim Zito.

Fuseini, who has been active in top-flight football since 2014, has had an impressive 2024/25 campaign, contributing to four goals (3 goals, 1 assist) in 30 appearances for Berekum Chelsea.

His towering presence, tactical discipline, and leadership qualities have drawn praise from fans and pundits alike.

Should the deal go through, Fuseini will reunite with former teammates Lord Amoah, Patrick Asiedu, and Henry Ansu, all of whom have also switched from Berekum Chelsea to Kotoko in recent times.

The move is seen as a strategic step by Asante Kotoko to solidify their defense and inject experience into their squad, especially after the club offloaded over 20 players earlier this offseason in a major squad overhaul.
