Fast paced Aduana Stars winger Zakari Mumuni is upbeat about his team’s chances of qualifying to Group stages of this year’s CAF Champions League at the expense of ES Setif.

The Ghana Premier League Champions have a narrow 1-0 first leg advantage and will progress if they can avoid defeat in Algeria next week.

The Dormaa-based side could become the first Ghanaian club to make it to the group stages of the competition since Berekum Chelsea in 2012.

“The game wasn’t easy, we expected to score more but that is the game of football but the win was important so that we could prepare very well for the second leg.

“I’m hopeful we can eliminate them, we can go to Algeria and get good results and approach the game with all seriousness but ES Setif is a good side with lots of experienced players,” Mumuni said in a post-match interview.

“I will entreat Ghanaians to support us ahead of the second leg and I assure them we will make Ghana proud,” Mumuni ended.

The second leg is scheduled to be played on March, 17.
