The Defense Intelligence Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces have made a swoop on three Ghanaians and seven other foreign nationals for alleged fraud.

The foreigners are made up of  a Jordanian, two Chadians, a Libyan, a Syrian, a Malian and a Burkinabe together with their Ghanaian accomplices have been perpetrating fraud on unsuspecting victims.

According to the military the modus operandi of the syndicate is that they pose as businessmen who deal in gold transaction and also the exchange of foreign currencies.

But end up shipping bags of cement to their unsuspecting clients who are mostly foreigners.

It was also disclosed by the military that the suspects have managed to dupe people to the tune of $1million in the last few months.

The news was confirmed by the the Deputy Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, Andy Lanya confirmed this to the press after the suspects were arrested at McCarthy Hill.

They were busted on Saturday by the military after picking up intelligence of their activities in their hide out at McCarthy Hill Accra.
