Success is something we all wish to be everyday of our lives.
It’s a new year and our resolution once again is that we’ll succeed this year. If you’re serious about it, then read this and thank us later.
1. Stay Focused
The most successful people became successful not by being distracted away from their goal. If you want to be successful, you’ll have to stay away from all distractions. Don’t be swayed by all the things around you, just focus on that one important thing.

2. Be Positive
You can’t succeed by always complaining or not believing in what you’re doing. If you don’t believe in your dream, who should? The path to success begins with a positive mindset. Once you’ve done all your studies and found it to be doable, just have a positive mindset about it. It doesn’t matter if a hundred or thousand people have done the same thing and failed, what matters is that your studies show that yours will be successful and that’s it.

3. Have A Plan
One thing that many fail to take into consideration when starting a venture is a plan. Without a plan how are you going to know if you’re on course or you’re going away from what you had in mind? A plan helps you to properly strategize and know exactly what you need to do to make your dream a reality.

4. Hang With The Right People
You can’t exist in a vacuum but it doesn’t also mean that you should associate with every and anybody. There are people that you’ll be better off without. Be it friends or just people you meet from time to time, make sure they are people who encourage you, help you save, do not promote excessive spending and are also doing pretty well in their various endeavors. You can also hand around people who have succeeded or are in your chosen field and doing well so you can pick pointers.

5. Don’t Be Afraid Of Failure
We all start something and believe it should go smooth as planned so at the first sight of an obstacle, we give up. Once you start out something, have it in mind that you’ll fall or it could go all wrong. When something goes wrong, don’t fret, pick up the pieces, go back to the drawing board and come back better and stronger. Do not be afraid of failing, be motivated by the fact that all successful people at one point, failed.

6. Never Give Up Until You Succeed
This is a follow up on #5. Never give up when you fail, push on until you succeed. Being weak is not falling but staying down when you fall. A strong person falls, picks himself up, dusts off the dirt and gets back to try again. Yes, continue trying until you make it happen, never give up.

7. If You Feel Stuck, Ask Other People
It’s so crazy when people feel they can do something all by themselves. Wisdom is not in the mind of one person. When you feel stuck on anything, don’t be shy or let your ego take hold of you, go out there and ask other people. There are various resources online you can explore and there are many people around that you can talk to. You just need to ask how something is done and you’ll be surprised at how much help you’ll get.

8. Discard Everything That Competes With Your Plans
We want to succeed but we have so much distractions in our lives. Instead of focusing on that main goal, we share our resources (time, money, energy) on other things which are not related in any way with our plans. If you want to succeed this year, do away with all the distractions and focus on your goal.
9. Have The Passion For What You Plan To Do
You can’t be successful by doing something simply because someone else is doing it. You’ve got to do what you’re passionate about. Many fail at doing things because they are not passionate about them, they just do them because other people are doing them and are doing well. Know this, one important ingredient while preparing that success dish is passion. Why will Mark stop school to dedicate his time and energy developing Facebook which has now become one of the most successful businesses in the world? It’s his passion and desire to make it work.

10. You’ll Face Obstacles
Never assume that things will go on without any obstacle, that’s a recipe for disaster. Have it in mind that you’ll face obstacles along the way and even when you finally hit the road running, you’ll still face obstacle. Having this thought in mind helps you plan ahead of time. It helps you put together a backup plan, it helps you put together a plan B, C, D etc.
