Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars, has cautioned against complacency as Ghana prepares to face Comoros in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday, October 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Though Ghana needs just a single point to secure qualification, Addo insists the match demands full focus and tactical discipline, citing Comoros’ growth and attacking threat.
“Comoros are really, really good. It’s not like they are here by luck,” Addo told the media.
“They’ve been doing good work over the years… Especially up front, they are very strong. It’s going to be a difficult match.”
Addo praised the Comoros coach’s tactical flexibility, noting their ability to switch systems and disrupt opponents.
“They have a really good coach who understands the game and plays with different systems. They are difficult to beat.”
Despite the caution, Addo expressed confidence in Ghana’s preparation, referencing the team’s mentality and analysis.
“If we have the right mentality like against Mali, we will beat them. We’ve analysed their strengths and weaknesses, and we know what we want to do.”
