Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has urged the Black Stars to approach their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a strong winning mentality.
The senior national team will travel to N’Djamena to face Chad on September 4 before returning home to host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8 in the Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Zito expressed confidence in Ghana’s chances of making it to the World Cup but insisted that the players must enter the matches with the right mindset.
“The aim is to qualify for the World Cup because, for now, the AFCON is gone. The team must approach the games with a winning mentality, and I believe they will be able to get the needed results,” Zito said.
He added:
“The Black Stars belong to all of us, and we will all be happy when the team qualifies. I strongly believe that the team will qualify for the World Cup, but they must win these games.”
Meanwhile, the Black Stars officially opened camp today, September 1, in Accra as preparations intensify for the crucial double-header.
