Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his squad this week for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The four-time African champions will regroup next month for Matchday 7 and 8 of the qualifiers. Ghana will travel to the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4 before hosting Mali on September 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After a difficult 2024, Ghana began 2025 in strong fashion, recording back-to-back victories in March – a 5-0 thrashing of Chad followed by a 3-0 win over Madagascar.
Addo and his backroom staff have been monitoring players closely in Europe and at home. His assistants, John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda, have been keeping tabs on local-based players as the technical team prepares to name a competitive squad.
The Black Stars currently top Group I after six matches and will be eager to extend their momentum as they push for a fifth World Cup appearance.
