Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars, says Ghana is determined to finish the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a win, not just the point needed, as they prepare to face Comoros on Sunday, October 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Following Ghana’s 5–0 demolition of the Central African Republic, the team sits three points ahead of Madagascar and needs just a draw to secure their fifth World Cup appearance in the last six editions.

But Addo insists the mission isn’t complete.

“This is where everybody should show how professional they are,” he said.
“I’ve seen a lot in football… I once led with my team 4–0, and we lost 6–4. In football, anything can happen. We’re not done until we’re done.”

The Black Stars will be locking horns with the Coelecanths of Comoros on Sunday, October 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium with kick-off time set for 19:00 GMT. The Black Stars will confirm their qualification at the Mundial if they earn at least a draw.

Ghana is aiming to join the elite ranks with a fifth World Cup appearance, having previously featured in the 2006 edition in Germany, the 2010 edition hosted on African soil at South Africa, the 2014 edition in Brazil and the 2022 edition in Qatar.

With professionalism, pride, and redemption in focus, Sunday’s clash is more than a qualifier — it’s a chance to finish strong and inspire a nation.
