Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew has underscored the utmost steadfastness of the Black Stars to win all four remaining World Cup qualifications games after back-to-back wins in the double header against Chad and Madagascar in the Matchdays 5 and 6 respectively in March. The double win catapulted the Black Stars to a whopping 15 points, leading to them occupying the top spot on the qualification table after six games. They are 3 points ahead of East African nation, Comoros who are  seated on second place with 12 points.

The four-time African Champions in their quest to making a record fifth appearance at the Mundial will have to finish off their remaining games as they will regroup in September for another double header against Chad and Mali in the Matchday 7 and 8 games respectively as they first travel to Chad and subsequently host fellow West African team Mali after.

The senior national team will wrap up their qualifiers with  the final set of games against Comoros and Central African Republic in October this year.

Notwithstanding the fact that the Black Stars have been able to place themselves in a good position for a World Cup ticket, the second top scorer in the team's history believes that they still have to stay determined to win all games to seal a perfect ending to their qualification run.

"I think we have a very good chance of making it to the 2026 FIFA World Cup," Ayew told Ghana FA media.

"The team fought hard for the points against Chad and Madagascar in March, and that has put us in a very good place on top of the table.

"But it is not yet over. We have four more matches to play, and we are focused on winning them.

"We have Chad and Mali in September; it won’t be easy, same as Central African Republic and Comoros. But with this kind of mentality and team spirit, we will succeed," he added.
