24-hour economy is a living programme rooted in science- Goosie Tanoh
Special Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy Initiative, Goosie Tanoh, has described the policy as a dynamic and evolving programme grounded in scientific principles and rooted in social democratic values.
Speaking at the official launch of the 24-Hour Economy on Wednesday, July 2, Mr. Tanoh emphasized that the initiative is designed to respond to Ghana’s changing socio-economic realities and is open to continuous refinement through feedback and evidence-based decision-making.
“We at the secretariat are confident that we will continue to receive constructive criticism and suggestions for further improvement. Criticism is always welcome. We see the 24-hour programme as a living programme, rooted in science and firm social democratic principles, but flexible enough to respond tactically to a changing environment,” he said.
Mr. Tanoh stressed that the success of the policy depends on its ability to adapt through learning, stakeholder engagement, and periodic adjustments.
“We will learn many lessons along the way and make numerous adjustments. This is the only way a programme can transform our society in the short, medium, and long term,” he stated.
He also commended President John Mahama for his vision and leadership, calling him “a true champion of responsible entrepreneurship and national transformation.”
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Tanoh struck an optimistic tone, urging national confidence in the country’s capacity to deliver on the goals of the 24-Hour Economy.
“We, as a country, we, as a people, have what it takes to succeed,” he said.
The 24-Hour Economy is a flagship policy of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), aimed at boosting national productivity, expanding job opportunities, and positioning Ghana as a competitive, resilient economy driven by round-the-clock activity.
