Veteran Nigerian musician 2Face Idibia has stirred widespread debate after declaring that men are biologically inclined to struggle with sexual fidelity in monogamous relationships.

Speaking on the "234 Mzansi" podcast hosted by Nedu Wazobia, the acclaimed singer argued that, despite loving and respecting one woman, many men naturally find it difficult to remain sexually exclusive.

"I’ve said this before and got into trouble, but I don’t care: man was not built to be sexually with just one woman," he insisted.
"A man can genuinely love a woman completely but still find it difficult to be only with her sexually."

2Baba suggested that this behavior stems not from a lack of commitment but from biological instincts. He described men as having “many seeds,” biologically wired to procreate beyond monogamous confines.

While acknowledging that some men choose to live differently, he emphasized that he was speaking about the “natural biology” of the average man.

His comments have reignited conversations surrounding his own personal life, particularly his former marriage to actress Annie Idibia, with whom he shares two children.

Though he didn’t dive into details, 2Baba admitted that their separation was mutual and rooted in emotional distance.

“Annie and I had a good bond. She’s an amazing and wonderful person, but it wasn’t working anymore,” he said.
“We both gave it our best. The reason we’re no longer together isn’t something I want to start discussing here. She is amazing—it just wasn’t working.”

2Baba also used the platform to urge couples not to remain in unfulfilling marriages solely due to societal pressure. He encouraged honesty and openness in confronting relationship difficulties.
“If a marriage isn’t working, try to fix it. But if it still doesn’t work, I don’t think anyone should be forced to stay. Only the couple inside the marriage truly knows what they’re going through.”

2Baba, born Innocent Ujah Idibia, is the father of seven children with three women: Sumbo Ajaba, Pero Adeniyi, and Annie Idibia.

His candid remarks have sparked a wave of reactions online, with opinions sharply divided between those who see his comments as a raw admission of male nature, and others who criticize them as an excuse for infidelity.
