Three suspects have been nabbed by the Eastern regional police command for robbing a fetish priest and kidnapping his son and a taxi driver.

The suspects were arrested at Tei-Nkwanta, a suburb of Koforidua on Saturday June 22, 2019.

Two of the suspects, Kwadwo Asare, 22 years; and Fatawu Lukeman, 27; together with 6 others on June 22 robbed the shaman, Mr Emmanuel Sarpong, also known as Nana Hiamankyene near Okorase.

They made away with a TV set, sound speakers, an amplifier and a cash of GHS14,000.

After the heist, the robbers kidnapped the fetish priest’s son, Eric Amponsah, 34, and his taxi driver, Enoch Addo, 26.

According to the police, the robbery was an attempt by the gang to retrieve their money from the fetish priest who they claimed had swindled them in a money doubling scam.

The two kidnapped victims have since been rescued by the police at Ayisikrom.
