As part of measures by government to lay off workers to meet the policies of International Monetary Funds(IMF) in 2017,a meeting was held in the flagstaff house of which Labour Minister,Finance minister and Minister of education including other members in the house outlined strategies to cut down government expenditure in the months of September 2016 to November 2016.

Education Minister Prof.Naana Opoku has been advised to put up drastic measures to reduce the number of workers in Ghana Education Service. The Ghana Education Service will lay off about 2000 teachers from government payroll and additional 2000 names will be expunge in 2017.The strategy to be adopted are:

*Any teacher who refuses posting to a remote area for a week name will be expunge from GES and Government payroll

*Any teacher who does not report on the first three days of school reopening name will be expunge from payroll and GES

*Teachers who campaign for a political party before school hours and after school will be removed from GES for him or her to enjoy full time political business

*Teachers who absent for three days from school will be replaced if the head teacher sends report to the office

*Teachers undertaken Sandwich and Distance courses without prior notice to the educational office names will go off.

*Teachers who partakes in strike,demonstration and other activities about increments of salaries, Promotion arrears and affected victims of three months pay policy will face the sanctions.

*Untrained teachers whose have been in the service without upgrading and proper appraisal will be removed for trained teachers to fill the vacancies.

*Teachers who fails to prepare lesson notes for two weeks will face similar sanctions.

*Teachers who fails to prepare and use TLM’s in teaching will be taking off.

*Schools whose students will perform abysmally in the BECE will be subject to proper scrutiny for the various subjects teachers who failed to taught well for pupils to pass will face direct dismissal or reductions in salaries.

*Any teacher who is reported to have challenge any senior officer of District, Region and National GES office will be off from the profession.

Finally teachers who gives poor and bad reports against government, teachers Union leaders and Education Minister on the bases of Chalk,TLM’s,Salaries and other irrelevant comments will be off from GES.

The following suggestions is supported by the President John Dramani MAHAMA and will be followed strictly. Teachers are caution to take note.
