Ghana Premier League giants have confirmed the appointment of Kim Tyrone Grant as their new head coach and Director of football at the club.

The 46-year-old gaffer is set to take over from interim manager, Seth Hoffmann.

His appointment takes effect from Dec. 1, 2018.

Here are 5 things you probably did not know about the new Hearts manager:

#5- CHARLTON ATHLETIC

Born in Sekondi-Takoradi, Grant started his playing career at Charlton Athletic youth system. He signed his first professional contract in March 1991. He went on to make 155 appearances spanning over nine years, scoring 25 goals.

#4 - BLACK STARS

During his long playing career, he earned 14 international caps for Ghana.

#3- GLOBE TROTTER

His journey has taken him to 18 professional clubs across Europe, Asia and Africa.

#2- UEFA Pro ‘A’ LEVEL COACH/PRODIGY OF WORLD CLASS COACHES

Grant has successfully completed all his UEFA Pro ‘A’ level coaching requirements through the English FA, pending practical observation by the FA.

He was coached by, and worked under some of the top names in the English game including Roy Hodgson, Sam Allardyce, Roberto Di Matteo and Alan Curbishly.

#1- EXPERIENCE APLENTY

Grant brings an extensive resume to the position as a professional player, scout, talent developer, manager and administrator.

For seven years he worked at the highest levels of English football, having served as Senior Elite Talent Scout for the first team of then-EPL side West Bromwich Albion.

In April last year, Grant was appointed as the head coach of Bangladeshi club, Saif Sport Club Limited, before returning home to take up a role as the technical director of Elmina Sharks in December that same year.

He has also worked with Ebusua Dwarfs and Sea Lions FC.
