Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, was named the world's best coach at the inaugural Best Fifa Football Awards in Zurich after he guided the foxes to a surprise win of the English Premier League.

The Italian, who has also led his side to the last 16 of the Champions League this season, won the award ahead of Real Madrid's Zinedine Zidane, who lifted the Champions League in his first season in charge, and Portugal's Fernando Santos, who led his team to an unexpected success at Euro 2016.

The former Chelsea and Juventus  manager led Leicester to the  start of 2015-2016 EPL campaign as 5,000-1 outsiders for the title after almost getting relegated in the previous  season but ended up losing just three league games in what has been described as a "fairytale" and the "most unlikely triumph in the history of team sport".

Monday's awards also saw Real Madrid and Portugal forward Ronaldo being voted the FIFA best player of the season.
