Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey is edging closer to an exit from Arsenal after failing to reach an agreement over a contract extension, with several clubs — including top sides from Saudi Arabia and Turkey — ready to swoop in.

Negotiations between Partey’s representatives and the Gunners have reportedly stalled over financial terms, and while talks haven’t officially broken down, sources indicate that an extension is increasingly unlikely.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that despite multiple rounds of discussions, an agreement remains far off — even as manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his desire to keep the Ghanaian international.

The 32-year-old enjoyed a strong, injury-free 2024/25 season, featuring in 52 matches across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Notably, Partey earned a Player of the Month nomination in October and delivered standout performances against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

His tactical flexibility was a major asset for Arsenal, excelling in his preferred central midfield role while also impressing when deployed at right-back.

Saudi clubs are actively monitoring his situation and are expected to make a formal move once he officially becomes a free agent.

Meanwhile, Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce and AC Milan are all keen on signing the former Atletico Madrid man, with Partey likely to consider offers that suit his long-term ambitions.

Unless a late breakthrough is achieved, Partey looks set to end his Arsenal chapter as a free agent, marking the end of a tenure that began in 2020 with high expectations and glimpses of brilliance.
