Finish side Ilverse Tampere have set sight on captain of WAFA SC Gideon Waja after the latter’s scintillating form which earned him a call up into  Ghana’s national local team.

The Finish side are in dire need of a combative defensive midfielder after the departure of Robyn Ayarna and find the Ghanaian as perfect replacement.

Waja’s form for WAFA stretches from last season as he oversaw his side’s impressive second placed finish in the Ghana Premier League.

His performances saw him earn a call up to the national team, and was part of the Black Stars team that played Congo in the World Cup qualifiers.

The 21 year old was also a key member of the Black Stars B team that won the West Africa Football Union Championship in September.

The WAFA Captain was linked with a move to Sweden and the United States but negotiations are believed to be ongoing.

Waja recently left for Kuwait to join Al Qadsia but the move was cancelled because of a move to the United Staes.
