Our stamina was tested but battle was the lord’s – Akufo-Addo
President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo is thanking God for his landslide victory in the December 7 general elections.
According to him, though they lacked resources, their faith in God won the much sort after victory for them.
The NPP leader was addressing enthusiastic party supports at the party thanksgiving service in Accra Sunday.
He indicated that, it has been a long journey to get to the presidency but kept going knowing the Battle is the lords, rough journey, deep valleys stumbled but came close and the doors closed in the faces but kept fate that in his own time they will get there better prepared.
The NPP, Nana Addo noted, took solace in Psalms 27vs 14 and worked with the full knowledge that God will fight the Battles.
He was however heartbroken comrades like late former party chairman, Jake Obetsibi Lamptey and Adams Mahama, JB Danquah Adu, Petter Wiafe, Kwabena Boadu and Abubakar Sidik other fallen soldiers are not around to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
Nana Akufo-Addo was grateful to successive generations who have stood for freedom and justice to get the party to where it is.
“Their spirit of sacrifice and service inspired their party to keep moving ahead especially the campaign managers who worked for the victory” he added.
The president -elect maintained that, Ghana’s future is bright and called on the citizenry to support efforts at building a prosperous, strong and great nation.
