NIA to begin issuing Ghana cards to children aged 6–14 on October 6

The National Identification Authority (NIA) will begin issuing Ghana Cards to children aged 6 to 14 years starting Monday, October 6, 2025.
The distribution will initially take place in 56 districts and cover children who have already registered. Cards will be issued at the same schools where the initial registration occurred.
To receive the card, each child must be present in person and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must present the original Form A receipt issued during registration.
The NIA says all backlogs of unprinted cards have been cleared, and distribution in the remaining districts will follow in the coming days. It also assured the public that details for new registrations in this age group will be announced soon.
The Authority is calling on all parents and guardians to cooperate fully to ensure a smooth rollout.
