Serve with integrity and purpose- Paul Baffoe-Bonnie to new lawyers

Acting Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has called on newly sworn-in lawyers to prioritise the core values of humility, integrity, and service to the marginalized.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre, Justice Baffoe-Bonnie congratulated the 824 newly qualified lawyers and encouraged them to pursue their profession with a sense of purpose, serving the vulnerable in society.
“You have chosen a path that demands courage, but it is a path that leads to purpose and fulfilling greatness. Congratulations again, our newly qualified lawyers, may you serve with humility and serve with purpose, above all, let your integrity shine,” Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie said.
On calls for legal education reform, the Acting Chief Justice emphasised the need for refinement rather than simply increasing enrollment. He stressed that legal education in Ghana must evolve to meet the needs of the 21st century.
“We must, however, ensure that the reforms we seek do not merely expand the numbers but truly refine the very purpose of legal education of Ghana in the 21st Century,” he stated.
Among the new lawyers was 47-year-old Taiwanese national, Chienchun Chen, who was warmly welcomed at the ceremony.
