ORC to delist 318 companies over regulatory non-compliance

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (Office of the Registrar of Companies) has announced plans to remove 318 companies from Ghana’s official companies register due to regulatory non-compliance.
In a statement issued on May 19, 2026, and signed by the Registrar of Companies, Maame Samma Peprah, the ORC said the affected businesses are listed in Volume 40 of the Companies Bulletin dated May 15, 2026.
The Registrar explained that the action is being taken in accordance with Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).
According to the ORC, the companies concerned have a three-month window from the date of publication to show sufficient cause why they should not be struck off the register.
Failure to respond within the stipulated period will result in their removal from the register and subsequent dissolution.
“The names of the companies listed therein shall, unless cause is shown to the contrary, be struck off the register at the expiration of three months from the said date, and such companies shall thereupon stand dissolved,” the statement noted.
The ORC said the exercise forms part of its ongoing compliance enforcement measures aimed at improving the accuracy, integrity and reliability of Ghana’s companies register.
It added that the initiative is intended to strengthen corporate governance standards and promote transparency within the country’s business environment.
The Registrar’s office also encouraged the public to reach out via its call centre or official social media platforms for further clarification or enquiries.
