The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has dismissed reports claiming it is selling its hotel investments, describing such claims circulating in parts of the media and on social media as false, misleading, and without foundation.

In a statement issued on Friday, May 22, 2026, management clarified that no process has been initiated to dispose of any of its hotel assets.

“SSNIT is not selling any of its hotel investments,” the Trust stated emphatically.

The Trust explained that recent advertisements published in the Ghanaian Times and Daily Graphic on March 24, 2026, had been misinterpreted by sections of the public.

It stressed that the adverts were not invitations for the sale of hotel properties, nor were they calls for investors or buyers.

Instead, SSNIT said the advertisements were intended to engage qualified consulting firms to provide advisory services for Golden Beach Hotels Limited, which operates La Palm Royal Beach Resort, Elmina Beach Resort, and Busua Beach Resort.

According to management, the consultants will be responsible for conducting an independent assessment of operations, recommending turnaround strategies, and developing a five-year strategic business plan to improve performance.

“The engagement is therefore a business improvement and strategic planning exercise intended to enhance operational performance and preserve value, not a divestment process,” the statement clarified.

SSNIT further highlighted Labadi Beach Hotel as a key asset within its portfolio, describing it as a strong-performing and strategic investment.

It added that the Trust continues to support expansion and development initiatives aimed at enhancing the hotel’s long-term value and its contribution to the pension scheme.

Reaffirming its mandate, SSNIT said it remains committed to the prudent management of contributors’ funds and investment decisions guided by sound financial principles and long-term sustainability.

The Trust urged the public to disregard what it described as misinformation regarding the alleged sale of its hotels, assuring pensioners and contributors that their funds remain secure and carefully managed.
