Champions and standout performers in Ghana’s top-flight football leagues will begin driving away with brand-new vehicles from the 2026-27 season after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) signed a sponsorship agreement with JAC Motors.

The partnership, announced in Accra on Tuesday, is aimed at rewarding excellence in domestic football and boosting incentives for clubs, players and coaches across the country.

Under the deal, winners of both the Ghana Premier League and the Women’s Premier League will each receive a new vehicle at the end of the season.

Individual award winners will also benefit from the initiative. The Best Player of the Season and Coach of the Season in both leagues are set to receive vehicles in recognition of their performances.

The sponsorship package will include several models from JAC Motors, including the JAC JS2, JS4 and JS6.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, GFA Vice-President Mark Addo said the agreement demonstrates the association’s determination to strengthen local football and properly reward achievement.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to recognising excellence and motivating players, coaches and clubs to strive for higher standards,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer of Tryton Motors Ltd, Jihad Hijazi, said the initiative would help inspire footballers while raising the profile of the domestic game.

He added that the collaboration highlights growing corporate interest in Ghana football and could open the door for further investment in the sport.

The agreement forms part of the GFA’s broader strategy to attract private-sector support and improve conditions within domestic football, particularly for players and technical staff.
