An eyewitness, Abdella Usman, told Adom News that the container truck, bearing registration number GN 1591-20, was travelling toward Kumasi when it allegedly developed a brake fault.

According to him, the fuel tanker was stationary along the roadside in the same direction, while the taxi was heading toward Juaso when the out-of-control truck crashed into both vehicles.
