8th February 2021
The Suame District Police Command in the Ashanti Region has launched investigations into a case of a missing 15-year-old student of St. Louis Junior High School.
According to the police, the parents of the student, Joana Mfum reported to their outfit that their daughter has not reported home after closing from school last Friday.
Speaking to Citi News, the Suame Police Commander, Supt. Emmanuel Asiamah said the police patrol team together with the family of the young girl have visited areas where they suspect the missing girl could be hiding with her boyfriend but have been unsuccessful.
He said investigations are ongoing to ensure the young girl is found.
“The case was reported on Saturday evening…we are doing our investigations to get the perpetrators”, the police officer said.
It would be recalled that in August 2020, an alleged rape of a St. Louis Senior High School female student took place on the school’s premises.
Police sources at the Ashanti Regional Police Command at the time told Citi News that the victim was studying in the classroom at night when an unidentified man dragged her to a bushy area where she was allegedly raped.
The attack was believed to have happened after the formal study hours at night, also known as prep.
