Bernardo Silva has praised Antoine Semenyo’s early influence at Manchester City, describing the Ghanaian forward as both a “very good player” and a “very good guy” who has fitted seamlessly into Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Semenyo has made an electric start since arriving at the Etihad Stadium, quickly winning over team-mates and supporters with a series of impressive performances. Speaking to ITV, Silva said the forward’s attitude off the pitch has been just as important as his quality on it.
“He looks not just a very good player, but a very good guy which helps, which fits right into the team,” Silva said.
The Portugal international highlighted Semenyo’s willingness to play for the collective, a trait that has long defined Guardiola’s sides.
“He’s a fantastic guy, who wants to play collectively, wants to help us, wants to have fun. We’re delighted with the way he’s started, hopefully he can keep going,” Silva added.
Semenyo’s arrival has brought fresh energy to City’s attack, with the Ghana international already delivering goals and assists in his opening appearances. His work rate, movement and unselfish play have stood out, aligning neatly with the demands of Guardiola’s system.
For Silva, that blend of personality and performance explains why Semenyo has settled so quickly in a squad filled with established stars.
As Manchester City continue to compete on multiple fronts, Semenyo’s rapid adaptation suggests he could become an important figure in the months ahead, not only for what he brings on the pitch, but also for the spirit he adds to the dressing room.
