FC Kaiserslautern have officially parted ways with Ghanaian winger Aaron Opoku after three seasons in German football.
The 26-year-old, who joined the Red Devils from Hamburger SV, made 61 appearances across all competitions, including 55 in the 2. Bundesliga and six in the DFB-Pokal.
Notably, he featured in the 2024 DFB Cup final against Bayer Leverkusen. Throughout his time at the club, Opoku contributed directly to 17 goals, scoring seven and assisting ten.
With his contract at the Betzenberg expiring at the end of the season, the Hamburg-born player now enters the summer transfer window as a free agent.
He is reportedly attracting strong interest from Major League Soccer side St. Louis City SC and could be set for a move to the United States.
In a statement confirming his departure, Kaiserslautern expressed gratitude for his service: "Thank you for three years with the FCK logo on your chest, dear Aaron, and all the best and best wishes for your future!"
Despite previously representing Germany at the U-19 and U-20 levels, Opoku remains eligible to play for Ghana at senior international level.
