German-born Ghanaian forward Aaron Opoku Tawiah delivered a top-class performance to help Kaiserslautern secure a crucial away win over SSV Ulm 1846 in the German Bundesliga 2 opener.

Opoku started and lasted 87 minutes as his team cruised to a 2-1 victory at the Donaustadion on Sunday.

The 25-year-old attacker found the back of the net late in the game to secure maximum points for Kaiserslautern in the thrilling clash.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, with both teams struggling to find the net. However, the second half saw a resurgence from both sides.

Felix Higl opened the scoring for SSV Ulm just three minutes into the second half.

Kaiserslautern pulled level in the 77th minute through Boris Tomiak, who scored from the penalty spot.

Opoku then emerged as the hero of the match, scoring in the 83rd minute to snatch all three points for his side.

He was replaced by Tobias Raschl in the 87th minute, having done the needful for his club.

Opoku will be hoping to maintain his form throughout the 2024/25 football campaign as Kaiserslautern aims for promotion to the Bundesliga.
