Former Accra Lions midfielder Abdul Rashid Abubakar has completed a move to Moldovan Superliga club CSF Spartanii Sportul.

The transfer was officially announced on Saturday, 14 September 2024, as the club prepared for their league match against FC Zimbru.

Abubakar's arrival adds to the growing Ghanaian contingent at Spartanii Sportul, bringing the total number of Ghanaian players at the club to three.

The 24-year-old midfielder has been on a dynamic career journey, joining his sixth club since 2021.

After being transferred by Accra Lions to Chinese second-tier side Heilongjiang Ice City on loan in 2021, Abubakar has had spells with various clubs across the globe.

Following his stint in China, he returned to Accra Lions before being sold to Bosnian side FK Sarajevo.

He has also played for Bahla Club in Oman, FK Loznica in Serbia, and Al-Suqur SC in Libya.

With this latest move to Moldova, Abubakar is eager to bring his experience and versatility to his new team as they continue their campaign in the Superliga.
