Renowned Ghanaian movie producer, Abdul Salam Mumuni, is currently in court over $700,000 lawsuit for allegedly selling right to a movie titled ‘Perfect Love’ without engaging its owners.

Perfect Entertainment, producer of the movie, has accused the CEO of Venus Films Production of movie theft.

The company’s CEO, Nana Kwabena Adu Acheampong, said in a press statement that Salam sold their movie to ROK TV owned by Iroko TV, a channel on DSTV and GOTV without his consent.

According to him, Salam, who is Iroko TV‘s representative in Ghana, admitted selling the movie to ROK TV but is praying for an out of court settlement.

However, Salam, in a press statement on Friday, denied the claims that he stole the movie, saying he followed due process to sell the movie’s right to the TV station.

He said he dealt directly with the director and producer of the movie, Frank Fiifi Gharbin.

He also revealed that he paid the agreed amount for the right to distribute the movie to the appropriate market using giants like Iroko TV.

Abdul Salam explained that the director and producer of the movie begged him to buy the right because he was reluctant in the initial stages to do so.

However, he finally decided to buy it due to persistent pressure mounted on him by Frank.

Frank has since not responded to Salam’s claims, as NEWS-ONE picked signals he wanted to challenge Salam’s claims in court.
