Samuel Abu Jinapor, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Damongo in the Savannah region, has retained his seat for a second term.

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources was on Monday, December 9, 2024, declared the winner by Electoral Commission(EC) officials following chaos that erupted in the constituency.

Mr Jinapor secured 16,222 votes, defeating his closest contender, Adam Mutawakilu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who polled 14,425 votes.

Independent candidate, Issahaku Saaka garnered 66 votes, while 356 ballots were rejected.

In total, 31,069 votes were cast in the Damongo constituency.
