Some residents of the Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern Region are appealing to President Akufo-Addo to consider appointing Alhaji Umar Bodinga, the Eastern Regional First Vice Chairman of the NPP, with a position as the MCE for the area.

According to them, compared to all other candidates, Alhaji Umar deserves the position due to his competence, hard work, and commitment to the party.

The residents noted that the combined effect of his political experience and knowledge of local governance makes him an outstanding choice for the job.

One Steven Asiedu explains to this portal that, considering the other aspirants, Alhaji Bodinga is the grassroots man who can connect and bring unity amongst party members in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Umar has promised to bring development to the Abuakwa North Municipality if he is appointed the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area.

According to him, he is competent in showcasing the Abuakwa North to the world.

He said what motivated him to aspire for the MCE position is to highlight President Akufo-Addo's vision of developing the area.

About Alhaji Umar Bodinga

Alhaji Bodinga born in Kukurantumi where he has spent his entire life since 1996. He was part of the first constituency executives who pout the now President, Akufo-Addo to parliamentary.

He was the constituency's second Vice Chairman for the then Abuakwa Central in 1996. He served for 6 years.

He contested for the Regional Second Vice-Chairman position in 2004 which he won and served for one term.

In 2001, he previously served as the Assembly Member for the then East-Akyem District.
