All academic activities at the TMA Daycare Centre have been suspended following a helicopter crash that claimed two lives on the school’s premises.
The incident occurred in Tema on Monday, March 16, when a microlight aircraft with registration number 9G-ADV went down within the daycare compound.
According to the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the aircraft was travelling from Ho to Accra at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred at about 2:00 p.m., prompting an immediate response from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service, who quickly moved to the scene and extinguished the flames after the aircraft caught fire.
Authorities confirmed that two bodies were recovered from the wreckage and have been transported to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Officials from the Criminal Investigations Department and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority are currently at the crash site clearing debris and securing the area as investigations continue.
Preliminary inquiries have begun as investigators gather evidence and examine possible factors that may have led to the crash.
The suspension of academic activities at the daycare is intended to allow investigators to safely conduct their work and ensure the premises are secure before normal operations resume.
