Despite the early setback, Chelsea's defense tightened up, and Accra Lions struggled to find another breakthrough in the first half. Gregory Obeng Sekyere made a crucial save to deny Shawkan Mohammed's attempt in the 35th minute.
In the second half, Chelsea made tactical adjustments that allowed them to gain more possession and put pressure on Accra Lions. This pressure paid off in the 61st minute when Mizack Afriyie capitalized on a defensive error by Accra Lions to equalize.
Chelsea had a chance to grab the winner late in the game when Patrick Asiedu's effort struck the woodwork, but the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
