Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold, who recently married songstress, Simi has shared with his fans why his wedding was held privately.

The wedding, which had about 300 guests, was attended by only close friends and families of the couple.

The 31-year-old said they decided to make their wedding private because they wanted the ceremony to be intimate.

“This January, before God and our family, we vowed to do this thing called life together. To be honest, it’s easy to get lost in the limelight; so we definitely have a slightly obsessive desire for a private life that belongs to just us,” he said.

“We planned on sharing a little bit of the beginning of our forever with you. Thankfully my team got Kudus on our little Island with us to capture some of these moments for you.'Here is ‘Promise’.”

Adekunle married his longtime girlfriend in a private ceremony held a week ago in Lagos.

Adekunle and Simi have collaborated on a song titled 'Promise' and scenes from the video appear to be from their private white wedding which many had been anticipating.

The piece which was released on Wednesday highlights the love that exists between the couple and their quest to honour promises they have made to each other.
