Players and staff of Aduana FC held a solemn moment of silence during training on Monday in memory of forward Dominic Frimpong, as reports continue to emerge about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Frimpong, who was on loan at Berekum Chelsea until the end of the season, remained a contracted Aduana player. The club’s training session was briefly halted as teammates and technical staff stood in quiet reflection, marking an emotional moment at the training grounds.

His death comes amid early reports that the striker was killed during an armed attack on a team bus. According to Berekum Chelsea, unidentified assailants allegedly targeted the vehicle and opened fire, forcing players and officials to flee for safety. Some team members were said to have gone missing in the immediate aftermath as they escaped the scene.

However, reports suggest those who escaped the scene have since been found.  Meanwhile, police say investigations are ongoing. A manhunt has been launched to track down those responsible, though officials have not publicly confirmed all aspects of the reported attack.

The tribute at Aduana’s training ground reflects the growing sense of loss within Ghana’s football community, where Frimpong was regarded as a committed professional. Teammates were visibly subdued as training resumed following the brief ceremony.

Across the country, messages of condolence have begun to pour in from clubs, supporters and football officials, many expressing shock at both the reported circumstances and the loss of a young player.
