African Cup of Nations (AFCON) winning coach Djamel Belmadi has been nominated for the FIFA best men's coach of the year award.

Belmadi guided the Carthage Eagles to their second Afcon title in the competitions storied history and their first in 29 years.

Algeria clinched the Afcon title in style conceding a paltry two goals while scoring 13 goals in the process to win the coveted Afcon trophy.

Fifa has named the Algerian among stellar names such as Uefa Champions league winner Jurgen Klopp, Copa America winning coach Tite.

Also in the running for the best men's  coach gong is Tottenham Hotspurs Mauricio Pochettino whose team finished as runners up to Liverpool in the champions league.

Pep Guardiola whose side had a clean domestic quadruple in England is also on the shortlist of nominees.

Ajax's young enterprising coach Erik Ten Hag who reached the Champions league Semi finals and won a first domestic double since 1992 also makes the list.

Portugal's Fernando Santos, Peru's Ricardo Gareca,2018 Copa Libetadores winner Marcelo Garllado and 2018 world cup winning coach Didier Deschamps all make the list.

Fans now have a say and can vote for your personal top three (First choice: 5 points, second choice: 3 points and third choice: 1 point). The fan vote will be equally weighted alongside the votes of other key members of the footballing community - namely journalists, national team coaches and captains.

The three finalists for each award will be revealed at a later date, with all award winners revealed at The Best FIFA Football Awards show in Milan on 23 September,2019
