Contrary to earlier speculation that the much publicised All African Music Awards (AFRIMA) may not come off, Francis Doku, Country Director for Ghana, AFRIMA , says there’s no fears since all is set for next week’s event.

In an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz on Friday, November 16, Francis Doku rather assured patrons of a spectacular show and stated that the earlier information making rounds were just rumours.

The latest information coming from the Country Director for Ghana, AFRIMA,  is not just good news but a relief to stakeholders since the cancellation would have caused the country big embarrassment considering the reputation the AFRIMA brand has built in its five years of establishment.

The November 21-24 Awards event slated for Accra was earlier rumoured not to come off as scheduled due to the Government of Ghana’s(GOG) inability to fulfill its contractual obligations with the African Union and organisers.

According to www.entertainmentgh.com which broke the news earlier, the African Union Commission and its partners for AFRIMA were contemplating cancelling the event in Ghana if the government of Ghana did not fulfil its promise and agreement as partners.

As part of agreement, the GOG is expected to support the high profile event in varied ways including the provision of venue, security, logistics, protocol services as well as some partnership package.

Their inability to provide and fulfill their part of the contract as agreed months ago, was said to have caused the organisers to want to cancel the event.
